Front Desk Receptionist Position Available

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist who will be the first point of contact for our Community Centre – the “face of our service”.

We are looking for someone who has a pleasant personality with a caring nature, has excellent customer service skills, who shows initiative, is a quick learner and is able to work with people from all backgrounds and circumstances including those in crisis.

            If you feel this could be you, you have excellent administrative skills and have been working in a similar role for at least 2 years, then this position could be for you.

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful for this position you will have:

Knowledge and Experience

1. Demonstrated experience working in a front desk administrative role for a minimum of 2 years.
2. Min. Cert III Community Services or Cert III in Business Administration or similar
qualification.
3. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a
variety of backgrounds and experiences, including people with complex needs.
4. A caring and compassionate approach to service provision and an understanding of trauma
informed care framework.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in office administration, including computer applications such as
Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Outlook calendar, data base.
6. Demonstrated experience in social media and website management.
7. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a range of service
network partners, including a knowledge of local community services.
8. Good stress management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
9. Self-motivated and able to use initiative whilst working both autonomously and within a team
environment.
10. Good time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and maintain productivity
despite numerous interruptions.
11. Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

You must have

– Current National Police Record Check or willingness to obtain.

– Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain before commencing.

– Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.

– Valid and current drivers licence.

Front Desk Receptionist Position Description Murwillumbah Community Centre 2023

Volunteering at the Murwillumbah Community Centre gives you an opportunity to contribute to your community, to help people and actively use and share your skills, attributes and knowledge. Moreover, you meet new people, develop and learn new skills, build professional and social contacts and gain that wonderful feeling of accomplishment. We also provide student placement, training and employment pathways.

  Volunteers Needed – Nullum House Drop In Support Service

We have a social inclusion service for community members doing it tough or in need of assistance at Murwillumbah Community Centre – Nullum House. We need volunteers to help with preparations, serving lunch, chatting with residents and cleaning up. This opportunity promises to be a lot of fun for all

Operation hours are Mon, Tues & Thurs from 9am to 12:30pm.

It can be a great opportunity to build support skills and give back to the community.
