Murwillumbah HUB
The HUB is a purpose built facility housing a suite of services delivered by MCC, including: Emergency relief, Financial counselling, budget counselling, Kids caring for country Indigenous culture group, Indigenous family support, Guyahyn Indigenous playgroup, youth services, supported playgroup, yoga and recreational programs, broadband for seniors, welfare support, advocacy, information & referral.
The HUB also accommodates over thirty outreach services for organisations from Lismore to Tweed Heads. This gives the Murwillumbah and surrounding communities access to a large range services to suit their needs

Flood Recovery Support
We provide a Flood Recovery Program at the MCC Hub to assist people living in Murwillumbah and the 2484 postcode as well as Tumbulgum and Chinderah who were affected by the recent floods. We can assist with immediate crisis, ongoing advice and support, access and referral to other services where needed. We offer assistance with understanding your flood assessments and applications for flood grants.

Emergency Relief
The Emergency Relief Service aims to assist people living in Murwillumbah and surrounding villages who are in financial crisis, assisting them with their immediate crisis situation and access to other services, where needed, for ongoing support.
We provide Emergency Relief at the HUB on –
Tuesday and Thursday mornings – By drop in
To access this service the person or family must live within the 2484 postcode including people living in Burringbar and Tumbulgum. If you receive a Centrelink payment please bring a current Centrelink income statement with you to the appointment.

We assist people with:
• Food Parcels
• EAPA electricity vouchers – Appointment only on Mondays and Wednesdays – ring 0266723003 for appointment
* Free Coles 2nd bite food 3 days a week – fruit and vegetables, bread – please bring your own bag
The Murwillumbah Centre works in partnership with Northern Rivers Community Gateway to provide Emergency relief for people living in Murwillumbah and surrounding hinterlands.
Financial Counselling
The Murwillumbah Community Centre provides Financial Counselling Services at the Murwillumbah Community Centre on –
- Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 4.30pm
Murwillumbah Financial Counselling Service offers a CONFIDENTIAL and FREE service for people worried about their debts. We won’t tell you what to do but we can assist you to make decisions and offer support when you decide what to do. We help YOU take financial CONTROL over your finances.
Depending on your financial situation, we can:
- Provide you with information on your rights regarding debt and debt collection.
- Assess your financial situation and your options.
- Assist you with details on bankruptcy, credit laws and practices.
- Guide you on how to talk with people that claim you owe them money.
We can also talk to your creditors directly, if you give us permission and written authorisation.

Legal Aid provide a weekly civil law advice service every Thursday and can help with issues related to: Fines, tenancy, Centrelink, debts, insurance, rentals, phone, utilities, superannuation, discrimination, victims compensation.

Homelessness Support
Connecting Home supports youth, men, women and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness to remain safely in their existing housing; find secure, stable housing; or sustain their accommodation once housed. Please ring Connecting Home and they will refer you to a case worker who can support you through the tenancy process.
