The Emergency Relief Service aims to assist people living in Murwillumbah and surrounding villages who are in financial crisis, assisting them with their immediate crisis situation in a way that maintains the dignity of the individual and encourages self reliance.
We provide Emergency Relief at the HUB on –
Thursday – 9am to 11:30am
To access this service the person or family must live within the 2484 postcode + people living in Burringbar and Tumbulgum who are welcome to use the service. Please bring a current Centrelink income statement with you to the appointment. Other conditions apply.
We assist people with:
• Food Parcels – can access help with food once every 3 months
• EAPA electricity vouchers – can access the service once every 9 months – bill must be overdue
• Telstra vouchers – can access service once a year
* Free Coles 2nd bite food 3 days a week – fruit and vegetables, bread
The Murwillumbah Centre works in partnership with Northern Rivers Community Gateway to provide Emergency relief for people living in Murwillumbah and surrounding hinterlands.
Material relief is available on request. Please make an appointment to see our Welfare worker if you need assistance with blankets, sleeping bags, clothing – if we don’t have it, we will refer you to a local service that may be able to assist you.

Unfortunately our Community Pantry was washed away during the floods on 31st March, 2017 – We lost everything in the floods and Nullum House is now closed until Council renovates the building.
We will advertise here when we have found a suitable temporary premises for the Pantry to continue – sorry for the inconvienence.
