Kids Caring For Country After School Program
This program is funded the Department of Social Services under the Communities For Children Initiative and has operated in Murwillumbah since 2011.
The Kids Caring for Country program is open to Indigenous children of all ages and their families to connect with cultural activities and support services in a supportive, safe and child-friendly environment.
Activities are delivered by male and female Aboriginal cultural facilitators to suit a range of children’s developmental ages and stages including:
Traditional Dance, Songs, Games and Languageharing Circle and Storytelling
Art and Crafts
Family Bonding and Strengthening
Access to an Aboriginal Family Support Worker
There is no cost, a healthy afternoon tea is provided – and bus transport can be arranged.
Time and location
Wednesdays during school term 3:30pm – 5:00pm alternating each week at the Murwillumbah Community Centre and Tweed South Primary School.
